With population growth expected to add roughly 236,000 residents by 2051, the city plans significant spending on roads, water, wastewater and transit assets, with more than 130 road projects mapped out over the next 15 years. The 2026 budget proposes increased funding year-over-year, including major undertakings like the $100 million Dickenson Sanitary Sewer Project, urban road upgrades and bridge renewals – all part of efforts to renew aging infrastructure and unlock new development capacity.
