Ontario Investing Over $3.6 Million to Train Skilled Trades in Hamilton The Ontario government is investing over $3.6 million through the Skills Development Fund (SDF) in four training projects and one building expansion project in Hamilton to train skilled trades workers. Construction on York Blvd. to impact access to HHCA office York Boulevard will be undergoing construction improvements starting on July 8,2024 with expected completion (North side only) in December 2024. HHCA member Green Infrastructure Partners (GIP) has been awarded the contract (C15-28-24 HW). Ontario Supporting Women in Construction Today, the Ontario government introduced the Working for Workers Five Act, 2024, building on its previous four Working for Workers acts. The act contains a suite of measures to support workers, including requiring that menstrual products be provided on larger construction sites and mandating that washrooms are clean and sanitary. In 2024, almost half of the employers we surveyed noted a good short-term business outlook, with increases in revenue. However, the survey also identified some key challenges to employers.
