
William Duncan Stewart
As a young carpenter with W. H. Yates Construction Company, Frid Construction, and Cooper Construction, Bill worked on many significant project sites in the Hamilton area including Burnhamthorpe Collegiate, the Masonic Lodge on King Street West in Hamilton, Hillfield Strathallan College and Ancaster High School.
In 1965, Bill Stewart and close friend and fellow HHCA Construction Hall of Fame inductee Ron Martin, forged a partnership which led to the incorporation of Martin-Stewart Contracting.
Notable projects completed by Martin-Stewart Contracting include: Mohawk College, Mohawk College Student Center, the United Way office in Hamilton, and the Hamilton Ronald McDonald House.
A loyal volunteer, Bill spends a great deal of time working for the betterment of Hamilton’s St. Joseph’s Villa, assisting with fund raising and the Villa’s expansion
