More affordable (modular) housing coming to Hamilton with the support of the Government of Canada The Government of Canada announced a $2.5-million investment towards the growth of BECC Modular, a manufacturing company providing turn-key modular homes for affordable housing projects and commercial properties. BECC Modular is coming up with innovative and affordable solutions to increase Canadian housing inventory. Through this investment, BECC will adopt more efficient steel frame manufacturing capabilities for modular home construction. HAMILTON, ON – SucroCan Sourcing LLC, a growing integrated sugar refiner, has announced its plans to build Canada’s largest sugar refinery at the Port of Hamilton, Ontario, on lands owned by HOPA Ports (Hamilton-Oshawa Port Authority). More Affordable Housing heading to Burlington! On January 15 the Government of Canada and the City of Burlington announced a $21 million agreement to encourage more affordable homes for Burlington, built faster. The announcement was attended by the Honourable Minister Karina Gould, MP for Oakville North – Burlington Pam Damoff, Burlington Mayor Marianne Meed Ward and Deputy Mayor of Housing, Burlington Ward 4 Councillor Shawna Stolte. The funding is through the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC)’s Housing Accelerator Fund (HAF).
