"We are delighted to announce that our search for a new General Manager has come to an end. Ms. Sue Ramsay has accepted the position and will begin her duties on September 8, 2015. As Operations and Communications Manager at the Council for Ontario Construction Associations (COCA) for the past 8 years, Sue brings with her a wealth of knowledge of the Ontario construction industry.
We believe Sue's strong administrative skills, industry knowledge and extensive experience with member services and association operations makes her the ideal choice for the HHCA's next General Manager.
We look forward to welcoming Sue to the HHCA and supporting her as she strengthens our work to serve our members. Please join us in welcoming her to the Association in her new role."

MOL Summer Blitz targets Trench Hazards
Ontario will conduct a two-month enforcement blitz focusing on hazards that can arise when workers construct trenches for installation or repair of utilities or sewers. In July and August 2015, the Ministry of Labour (MOL) inspectors visit various construction projects where trenches are being excavated across Ontario. Inspectors will check for hazards that could result in worker injuries or death. This includes checking that employers are taking approriate action to assess and address these hazards and are complying with Ontario's occupational health and safety laws.
In particular, inspector will focus on:
trench work notification to the MOL
trench wall support
identification, location and marking of utilities before work is undertaken
measures to prevent slips, trips and falls by workers
Protecting workers is part of the government's continued commitment to prevent workplace injuries and illness through its Safe at Work Ontario enforcement initiative.
