Safety Talk: Heat Stress

A few months ago, a safety talk on heat stress would have been laughable. However, while heat stress can occur indoors at any time of year depending on the workplace, more workers will be facing this hazard now that the temperature outdoors is rising. Workers are at the greatest risk of developing a heat-related illness in early spring, before their bodies have acclimatized to the heat. Acclimatization usually takes six to seven days and may be lost in as little as three days.
